Unit-linked Funds

Important Information

Unit-linked Fund Performance

The value of investments and the income from them can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of what might happen in the future. It is important that you regularly review your unit-linked investments to make sure that they fit your needs and that you are comfortable with the level of risk.

Environmental, Social and Governance factors

Environmental, social and governance factors (ESG or sustainability) are integrated into the investment manager’s process. Such ESG concerns are one factor among several that are used in the selection of securities for our portfolios. The investment manager advocates will look for sustainability excellence when it engages with companies they are considering investing in.

Additionally, the investment manager excludes controversial weapons manufacturers from all portfolios and uses an independent ESG data provider, Sustainalytics, to assist in researching companies they are considering investing in. The Society supports the incorporation of ESG factors into the investment process by its investment managers.

We review our fund range regularly in terms of investment objectives, performance and size to make sure policyholder interests are met. We reserve the right to alter, close or even merge our funds for practical reasons, or to respond to market needs. If this happens, we will give you notice and if necessary, we will ask you to tell us which alternative fund you would like to invest in.
